I think it needs a little more than that. Nats got dropped into the role through some extraordinary circumstances manipulated by Xander. he may be the first human ever to be placed in such a position, and he was gradually losing himself because of it.

We've talked about this before. I still think it would make an interesting theme for an actual story.
