Reply Subj: Wouldn't that be bad for the Paradopolis tourist industry?

> > Threat assessments, eh?  I wonder how they rank those?  If they rate power and predictability and history, it might be ironic that the Psychic Samurai would be a bigger threat than Hatman because nobody really knows everything about her and she has history with a crime family.
>
> I'm sure she's red flagged in quite a few intelligence dossiers.

Chiaki is the poster child for reputation preceding her.  Those who know her, including Hatman, know that she's no threat to the world, but as one suspect's interview with Jack and Vicky went, she has a reputation as someone who's cold-blooded and terrifying.

On the other hand, Chiaki uses that reputation because it often helps her avoid violence.

> > Also makes me wonder about the implications of Liu Xi Xian's threat assessment.  It would have to be very high, so you have to wonder if they're having meetings about whether she needs to be neutralized now or later.
>
> Whoever they are, they might be.

That brings up the old question again of whether the Lair Legion would take on a government organization to protect Liu Xi, who isn't even an LL member, or if they'd hand her over.  The question might become even more dicey if it's a government organization the LL has worked with before - does the LL trust them again not to harm Liu Xi or do they take the hard line?

> > Lara Night, of course, would rank very low because she hasn't presented herself as any kind of threat (another probable irony), and an even bigger irony, Yuki Shiro probably ranks very high simply because she's the most likely to locate their office and destroy it if they piss her off.   \:\)
>
> I think Lara might have blown some of her cover in the last few days of the Parody War.

I'm sure she ended up on those files as soon as her name was known, simply because anyone who can cross dimensional barriers and therefore can't be captured or arrested easily can be interpreted as a threat.

> > Madame Symmetry seems to have stolen Faite's bit (freezing current time to talk to someone), except for the fact that Faite is much stranger and much more into subtlety.  Plus Faite is sick of the Hooded Hood's whole family and wants nothing to do with them.
>
> Symmetry was the keeper of the chronometer of infinity before Mumphrey. She first appeared in stories somewhere during the Legion World Tour around UT#40 or so. She was taken down after her attempts to destory the Legion in UT#99-100. She'd naturally use her new powers to replicate her old trick.

In that case I guess Faite's does work differently.  Rather than actually freeze all time around her, Faite just "captures" a moment in time.  The best analogy would be catching a fly in your palm without injuring it and then letting it go at will.

> I'm not sure that Vicki would really go for hero work. She's really a classic bad girl and she's not that into other women.

I wonder if the Psychic Samurai would encourage her at all.  Chiaki was part of a crime family, never really a leader, and she made a name for herself before becoming something of a hero.

> > Looks like the Baroness is going to use the Safe chaos to make her escape and disappear.  And maybe even take over the world again.  Still makes me wonder if she's somehow involved in the Lair Legion hunt.
>
> Noted.

I knew that would happen sooner or later.

> > I suppose it's good Liu Xi hasn't been called over this whole safe thing.  This shows where training makes the difference, because she's likely to become frustrated and turn the entire island and the Safe into a solid block of stone, trapping all the prisoners within.  Pretty good solution, but bad publicity, and Hatman definitely wouldn't approve.
>
> Liu Xi has problems all of her own.

I guess that's fortunate in this case, just not for her.
