Reply Subj: It was nice of her to get out of bed before disappearing...

> ...I bet it lets an awful draft in under the covers if she just vanishes outright.

Probably.

> Interesting character interplay this chapter, as Liu Xi and Manny have the "where is this going?" heart to heart, albeit without either one of them too hung up on finding the answer right this moment. Considering that she can blink him into the cold, airless void of space should he displease her, I'd say that Manny should at least take Dancer's advice and send flowers the next day. And definitely call.

Liu Xi is somewhat jaded and accepting about the whole thing.  She's still not entirely clear about what she deserves, so she's always grateful for what she does get.  She doesn't demand too much.

Sad, yes, which is why it's fortunate that she's surrounded by kind people.

> I don't think Lara's going to talk Jay into bed... even Zdenka's, but it led to some interesting insights into her past when she tried...

Lara is trying to help.  She was worried that Jay might drive Zdenka away because his rules seem more important than she is.

> Nice to see them all recovering in their own ways from all that's happened recently.

At the very least, the main theme running through all the tie ins is that the war shook them up and made them realize they don't have forever.  In this case, Liu Xi is trying to cure her own antisocial tendencies, and Lara is warning Jay that Zdenka won't be patient with him forever.
