You know, the rich text editing gets confusing because the default text box has a white background.  As I put responses into AG's message, I had to change them from his green color, and seeing as I'm seeing what I'm typing start out as black, I changed the green text I was typing to black.  Which promptly went invisible as soon as it was posted.
