Byron's story, "Fragment of a Novel" want nowhere, but fellow house-guest John Polidori reworked its main character Augustus Darvill PVB-style into his own tale, "The Vampyre", the first English-language published vampire story. Shelley wrote "Fragment of a Ghost Story", and also wrote up five spooky tales from visiting gothic novelist "Monk" Lewis.

So that Geneva trip gave the world both Frankenstein and vampires.
