    Quote:
"Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster."

Back home, a lot of people already believe she's a monster.

    Quote:
That only works if each new Bond is brainwashed into believing himself the original (with the murdered bride-to-be etc). Of course, that could be the purpose of the Village from The Prisoner.

I meant the movies theory. Lent to by the fact that a few James Bonds in the movies referred to their "predecessor".

    Quote:
It's all down to how the character is portrayed. Training, and the kind of training, are other ways of illustrating personality type, but far from the only ones.

Wait until Yuki finds out that Lara never really had her heart in the superhero business, and still really doesn't.

    Quote:
I recall one comic book editor insisting that every writer should know what was in their main characters' music collections and what they ate for breakfast.

I usually do!

    Quote:
All good story fodder, and grist for a conversation with an immortal such as Yo or the Shoggoth's high priestess Ebony.

I did have part of a story once where Lara spoke to Faite about it. Faite finds it fun and exciting to live one life after the other. But the downside is having to decide when to leave the old one behind.

    Quote:
Ideally, an investigation into the various consequences of such an event would include a whole range of reactions, even including those for whom it was the best thing ever - for example someone released from a curse or monstrous condition. I'm thinking back to Follies of Youth where, amidst all the fun stories of people enjoying their salad days again we had the tragedy of Marie Murcheson's brief taste of renewed life.

Of course there are always multiple points of view of everything. Some people love rainstorms (like me) and some people curse the sun.
