The penguin does seem of late to have established itself as a recognised Christmas animal. One co-worker objects to this, and takes every opportunity to complain on grounds that they don't appear anywhere in the Biblical account. She's apparently fine with reindeer, robins and snow though, so that's clearly a different matter.
