As I recall, HV's last work established that the various incarnations of HV were each reborn when the last was destroyed, and that the great secret they hid even from themselves was HV's role as exiled ruler of abyssal realms. This didn't neccessarily make HV evil; it wasn't clear whether he was more like a warden than a monarch. But whatever it was, clearly HV would take issue with an antichrist on Earth and seek to remove it with his usual ruthlessness.

Sounds like something I should stay clear of in writing so I don't mess up a carefully balanced plot.

A few years ago I established that the Abandoned Legion (not to be confused with Hatty's recent version of the group, or with the Lair Legion), which was originally made up of poster characters who vanished early in the history of the board, had itself vanished. That took Cap, Paste Pot Pete, Cobra, and Hunter Victorious out of play so I didn't have to keep finding excuses for them not showing up at the next big crisis. After a while I get antsy writing people's main character without any input from them to make sure the direction's right. Hunter Victorious was the latest and last of the HV line to be seen, which suggests he isn't dead - merely MIA.

I did have an idea to tie up the whole HV mystery year or two back, and since the poster hadn't been around for six years or more I felt pretty safe writing it. Then remarkably poster-HV turned up on the board, showing an interest in where his characters had been and expressing an intention to pick up his plots and carry on. He vanished again soon after, but it warned me that I really am better leaving this plotline alone.

You'll note that each of the three time travellers except Vinnie have now had demons sent to kill them. Mac dealt with his. Alcheman and CZ dealt with Grace's. Vinnie's has yet to turn up - but it knows where he lives.

If you mean it'll attack the bookstore, it probably didn't expect a young Chinese girl who's had enough with demons. Plus she wouldn't want those hedgehogs hurt - they're cute, and who knows what the consequences are for killing a Hedgehog of Time.

The hedgehogs of Time debuted in a one-off story by Josh Clement, wherein he posited that when they were squashed flat it generated energy in another of the creature's dimensions - time - allowing them to fix chronal problems with their road-kill sacrifices.

We have established however that Lisa's cat can eat them with no obvious consequence.

Why did Visionary have to go along, though? I know he's leader, but is his presence for observation part of their insurance policy?

Vizh didn't go along. His last appearance was in the Lair Hangar after the sleigh had departed and then he went to bed.

    That's probably even more dangerous.

Vizh seems a little busy to write the tie-in of how he and the Juniors had to save Christmas by dressing the Shoggoth up as Santa and using Giant Robot Arm Zeke to deliver presents.
