Subj: You can't understimate them. It's fatal.

The doctrine is most often expressed as using mental and physical dicipline to harness the natural energies of the body to influence the natural energies of the world. In that case it requires a body to generate the qi and a mind or spirit to direct it. It's an excellent
      mechanism for explaining some superpowers.

    Quote:
That sounds about right, but still it would be disappointing for anyone who believes the body is key. Once her spirit has left it, the power combo is broken. And because it's a combo, it's likely just replacing the spirit with another won't work either.

It's an interesting question as to how much is mind and how much body. For example, Whitney Darkness or Vinnie De Soth's forms wouldn't have any power without their occupying intelligences. Power dampening shackles would have little effect on them. Conversely, CSFB!s body has become his power in effect.

    Quote:
Also, funny thing - just like Lara, CSFB! is also funneling a finite power through his body - the power of chaos. He too could be mistaken for a Celestian on the same grounds.

A very long time ago I worked out some fundamental cosmic forces of the Parodyverse - the Jarvis Cosmic, the Gah! power, Serious Matter, Impossibilitium, and a couple of others I forget. Since then we've seen other manifestations of the cosmic such as Corposant Fire and the Divine Spark (which empowered Balefire and Mr Epitome respectively). I tend to view them all as different featured web-browsers interfacing with the same internet.

The Parody Master arranged for them to be triggered to seal the Legion in on one occasion so they couldn't stop him.

I was thinking more triggered at will than prodded into activating.

Theoretically possible but likely having massive consequences.

The Citizen Z situation gets significantly advanced in UT#349.

Noted. Though I might be delayed in reading it, since I'll be out of town next week.

I doubt it'll be posted that soon.

One interesting contrast would be a person who chose to become a cyborg, in contrast to Yuki's having a cyborg form as essentially a prosthetic. CSFB!'s rogues gallery included a sect of people who wanted to "improve" themselves with machine parts.

    Quote:
Or someone who was obsessed with it. That might be interesting, and insane, to explore.

Yes. Imagine a fanatic collector whose entire cyborg self is harvested from cyborg parts of others - a blend of Technopolitian borg, Parody Master Avawarrior, Citizen of Cybernation convert, Meccha Cabonara (or whatever Shrike's cyborg mafia bunch were called) etc.

There's two routes with this one. Either the villain was nuts and chose to become a cyborg because of it or else the becoming a cyborg drove a good man insane; it's the Joker vs Harvey Dent scenarios.

The latter might be more interesting if Yuki and this villain previously enjoyed a family or romantic relationship.

Maybe a rival she thought she left behind a long time ago.

Interesting.
