I was looking over the extras on the Iron Man 2 blu ray, and there are some extensive Shield files to go through. Still, I couldn't help but think that they could have easily laced that stuff with far more references to Marvel history and characters... basically, no newspaper article or journal scribble references any character that hasn't already appeared. How easy would it have been to reference some WWII scientists like Horton, or some modern ones like Pym?
I haven't seen the DVD yet so I can't comment on that, bit I have been watching the Avengers animations and I'm impressed with the detail they're putting into that.
As well as showing some supporting characters with their proper visuals - including the whole Asgard cast - there were a couple of subtle ones slipped in too. "Agent Morse" was my favourite.
The fights have impressed me with their choreography, but more because the characters fought "in character". This was especially evident in the Hulk vs Hawkeye and Widow fight.
I'm looking forward to the series.

It was interesting to see that, after going through the cartoon line-up (which included Black Panther, but didn't have Black Widow or Hawkeye, I think...), they finished with "and led by Iron Man!" Admittedly, it was on the Iron Man 2 DVD, but it was still surprising to hear that Cap wasn't going to be the leader. It'll be interesting to see how the team shakes out in the film.
