Quote: Quote: No, but if two heroes are patrolling that's doubled the chances that they'll find a crime, prevent a disaster, save a life.Quote: That depends on whether they were both planning to be patrolling. Lara *does* know how to take time off. If she has nothing better to do, she could fill in for Hatman and they could trade for the night (she could do his job, and he could take time off). What I'm suggesting is that if a hero is free to fill in for another so that other can "take the night off" it implies that only one hero is required for the job; whereas in a troubled and chaotic world, every hero available may be needed. It's the difference between being a train driver and a parking ticket inspector. There are a fixed number of trains needs driving so as long as a replacement is available the driver can go on leave with a good concience. Conversely, double the number of traffic cops means twice the number of tickets issued. Quote: As Lara would put it, if she were trying to convince Hatty to take a night off - if you burn out because of it, you won't be any good to anyone. She may just be an authority on burning out because burnout from too much public attention and pressure caused her to lose her temper and kill someone long ago. Now she knows that time off is very important.Quote: Quote: Quote: P.S. Hat losing his temper and blaming Lara or anyone else for a death would probably result in Yuki Shiro cornering Hatty and letting loose with lots of volume.Quote: Quote: I don't think Jay would be that unprofessional. He'd only chew someone out if they'd been negligent.Quote: I think the blaming might more be a function of "I never should have let you convince me" kind of stuff. All this said, I don't think Hatty is such a workaholic. However, he does try to make sure that even his free time is spent responsibly and helpfully, with the GMY Foundation or with the kids at Zero Street Mission, for example. | |||||||
