This is starting to look like a Lost World scenario, where they find some sort of ancient life or civilization deep within the Earth.

Noted.

Is it just me, or is there a reason I feel like the interactions between Vinnie and Liu Xi sound like they're keeping something from the rest of the team? I mean like Xander would keep something from them - which might prove very dangerous to the others. And Hatty is so calm about it, it almost seems like he's in on whatever it is.

Well, both Liu Xi and Vinnie come to the team with rather different experiences than the others.

In Liu Xi's case she's already familiar with the team members, the mansion, and at least some of their rogues gallery. She's also survived a lot of planar travel and several marriage attempts. What's new for her is being actually on the team with all the spotlight and responsibilities that entails and having a boyfriend and maybe other friends around to help her and for her to worry about.

In Vinnie's case he's quite versed in his own corner of the Parodyverse, the occult/supernatural stuff, even if he's being expected to punch above his usual weight class as acting sorcerer supreme. All the superhero stuff, the LairJets, the casual way the LL head offworld or leap into death-defying situations, is a bit mind-blowing for him.

So I'm trying to find the balance between these two being on a huge learning curve and them each coming with a fair bit of experience already.

Then on top of that Vinnie's aware that Liu Xi has two looming problems, the lien that Slithis took on her soul and the menace of the approaching Void Spectre.

Also that tiny Liu Xi Xian picture you have isn't the same as the Poser one I saw posted a while back. Where's that one from?

It's another of Vizh's very helpful contributions:
