I'm glad to see the plot of CSFB's dream of expansion moving along. Taking Hatman out of the Legion has really opened the door for this story, and we didn't even have to kill him off to do it!

What an oversight. Still, wait for UT#431, in which the Mayor of GMY calls in some specialist political assistance to help with her new PR problems.

This reminds me of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes mini-series, by Joe Casey, actually. The Avengers, under Iron Man's leadership, struggle to get government security clearance. When Captain America shows up, they get the clearance, but if Cap ever leaves the team, so to does their priority status. It's similar to this situation; with Hatman away and CSFB! at the helm, the team is getting more flack then they usually do.

The point is that in this case the team may deserve more flack. CSFB!'s not the choice guaranteed to make for the smoothest relationships with governments and law enforcement agencies.

The Alcheman/Goldeneyed buddy adventure is also a very fun sub-plot. The rookie hero with the rusty veteran is proving to be a fun combination that I wouldn't necessarily have thought of pairing together.

It seemed to naturally suggest itself somehow. I wasn't sure whether to include their sub-plot in this issue or UT#341: Candidates, but in the end I decided we'd need some old school action to offset the main storyline.

I suspected that phone Nats picked up was a direct line to someone important; really, I'm sure the President could have gotten us pepperoni if he'd wanted to.

He probably could, given his house majority.
