Previous Post Fortunately on the language front all Jay needs to do is borrow the hat of someone who actually speaks that language, (preferably but not neccessarily a traditional hat of that culture) and he can speak it while he wears it. It works for alien languages so why not Mandarin or Cantonese?

The problem is, Liu Xi isn't wearing a hat, and he doesn't know anyone in the immediate vicinity who will give him theirs. And I'm sure Jay of all people is above stealing a hat just to speak a language.

He will, however, get an interesting "hat" of a different kind later in the story that will reveal interesting things about two people at once.
