> > Liu Xi must have been in a practical joke mood sending Tandi with Vinnie. Though maybe not - she might have considered Anna, and either was told or thought that Anna, having more human-like emotions, would be more easily scared than Tandi. But then there's the cause of it all...so it may have been a practical joke after all.
>
> I suspect it's more about social skills. Tandi would be able to deal with "people" issues much more slickly than Anna. But it might also be as simple a reason as Anna not having yet returned from her sojourn with Yo.

True, most likely Anna would just follow quietly and try not to get too involved, unless she's asked a question directly or can supply some useful information.
Then she would have blasted the bin into a puddle of melted metal and bits of burning paper. Jury's still out on whether that would have helped or made things worse.
> The actual real-world reason is that I started writing this story before Anna was introduced and developed anyway.

Must be an old story, then. Also explains why Liu Xi isn't around even though now she's on the Paradopolis U campus.
> > Though I guess Liu Xi wouldn't want to get involved directly, anyhow, since she'll have to see the people from that sorority around campus. That could be too embarrassing.
>
> And Vinnie knows better than to bring an elemental sensitive into a volatile chaos-soaked poltergeist environment. Liu Xi could probably handle it but it wouldn't be pleasant for her.

At least she could keep the flying objects away, and keep up with CSFB!'s banter.
