I'd have done rather more throughout the story with the EEE crew is poster-Al had been around.

I tried to give Jay some wiggle room and I checked the story with Kirk to be sure about the reactions.

That was really a one-time deal for Vinnie, using some family assets that don't belong to him. And it certainly isn't the end for the Void Scholar. He's the big badd in this storyline so he doesn't get beaten that easily. He's been thwarted one way but he has other plans in place.
