> > > Right now, when he's surfing on the whole "liberator of Caph" thing, would be the time to address any issues requiring direct action. The attack on himself and Ohanna gives Vaahir the excuse to do what Vaahir does best.

Do they have negotiators?
> > And that kind of violence might hurt their chances of a trade agreement with the Trade Alliance. They usually don't trade with unstable regimes prone to overthrow.

> Caph's not really in need of a trade deal yet. They have internal issues to manage. They have an agrarian economy that has allowed them to remain self-sufficient right up to them making interstellar combat less than a couple of hundred years ago. In fact Kiivan might be justified in slowing down his planet's exports and imports for a while and concentrating on home affairs.

The Trading Alliance might still be watching them. They're patient. Though I'm not sure how they'd react if an outside force attacks Caph. They may very well do nothing.

> > But the question is how would he take that compliment? And would he accept more training from her?
>
> I think for now Kiivan's trained. He needs skills in areas other than combat next.
