Reply Subj: I tried that a couple of days ago. It only worked briefly.

> > There's a good character piece in here.
> I wrote a short one a while ago about her history, but nothing newer yet.

Proceed.

> > > Would the Carnifex really kill her over a few questions?

> Lara definitely would fight any kind of removal and would become an instant pest. Maybe answering a couple questions doesn't sound so bad in comparison to that. Especially since being an outsider Lara might understand and sympathize with the answers better than most.

If the Carnifax felt that his deception was in danger of being penetrated he'd be utterly ruthless. As long as he felt Lara remained in the dark over his work then she'd be safe.

> > If ever there was a time and a good narrative reason for new races to show up it's now. Admittedly, they might not wish to show up on Earth given recent events, but still...
> This is a space-faring culture that's not war-like but not totally friendly either. They have highly advanced technology and use it to make their lives easier - but because of rigid rules, they protect it fiercely and refuse to help anyone because of it.

If there's a good story there then go for it.

> > > Chiaki doesn't evade questions, she just doesn't answer them. Vicky and Jack have dealt with that a few times.
> > Not answering is evasion in its own way, and it would ring bells with any experienced cop.
> Oh it rings bells with Jack Burns too, but he gave up because trying to get information Chiaki doesn't want to give is like arguing with a brick wall.

I doubt that Graham's going to give up until he gets some answers about a major breakout at the Safe.
