> A very nice continuation that had me grinning. I'm happy to see the collection of our original Caphans getting this moment together as their epic saga comes towards a close. There may be a few more adventures waiting for some, but this was a good happy moment that they deserved as reward for all they were put through.

It seemed neccessary to mark the end of their long journey, and to give them a final scene - even if they never had a similar opening one.
> I'm actually fairly impressed that, for mostly background characters, quite a few of them have developed characteristics that help me to differentiate between them. Even those that remained extras through their entire run were by far the most attractive extras of any big-budget production.

> I also quite enjoyed the Kerry/Mircandalee scene, both for the thespians remembrances of her troupe and for her advice to Kerry. She'd better hurry to take it, however, as this dinner isn't planned to go very well for Vizh or for Caph.

But you heard the gong. It's time for the Caliphate Court to convene. Dignitaries from across the galaxy are here and the future of Caph will be decided.
> Looking forward to (and dreading) the next part!

You don't need to dread the next part. The pace does pick up a bit from part five, though, leading to something of a cliffhanger at the end of part seven, leading into UT#328 (assuming we still have some readers by then). You can worry all you like in UT#328.
