Subj: They only set out for a day's escord duty to Badripoor - and that was around nine months ago.Posted: Thu Apr 03, 2008 at 11:42:25 pm EDT

There'd be more applicants if you included it in the syllabus.
> Anyway, some dire prophecies in the works. You know, you can still buck the expectations and keep the story light and fluffy throughout. Zig when we think you're going to zag... that kind of thing. Just... just think about it.

We're relatively light and fairly fluffy for another four segments yet. Then we become a little darker and more prickly. Then we get bright burning red.
> And those guys are lucky I came along when I did. I'm betting they were bleeders. Still, I don't think I'll ever get used to people of any planet being intimidated by me.

After I wrote the scene with Vespiir and Koodi's somewhat desperate fears of an unprotected life on the streets of Caph I felt the need to add a riff and clear my palate at the same time. So I got some raiders to show what the dangers are, but I switched them to finding Miiri not Vespiir because I wanted them to suffer. But then I felt that combat would break the tone of the overall story at this point - we're supposed to experience a slow build to an all-action finale; so having Vizh innocently saunter into view allowed me to show yet another facet of Caphan life - they believe what they hear in the ballads.
> Fun stuff, and I'm thrilled to see this continue!

We'll struggle on and try and get to the end of it.
