In this case, though, I'm not sure that's what Kirk was going for. I think he wanted to show how a revised social structure might reverse the genders on the Caphan slavery thing, and demonstrate Glitch's growing sexual interest in organic males.
For me the line is how our heroes react to the Caphan social situation. It's a very different storyline if Vizh sleeps with his nine Caphan slaves than if he's just tormented by having them around. Ham-Boy accidentally getting ownership of some Caphans is a funny sub-plot. One of the cast hiring innocents for sex feels a beat (pun intended) too far.

Well, I don't want to make a big case out of it. It just felt like Glitch was lacking perspective and is owed a "What the hell do you think you're doing?" scene with, say, Kit.
