I wasn't too happy with that. Originally Miss Link's part was going to be bigger (and involve the Moderator "torturing" the Shoggoth in her presence, including her looking away into the shadows while the creature screamed and writhed. (and "stopping" the process as soon as the Moderator left). But I wasn't sure that it fitted the character.

It seemed logical. The Shoggoth would probably grab the girls if they were deleted out of reality, and Magweed and Griffin would probably get picked up as well.

I've probably quoted it before, but one of my favourite lines is of a simillar cat in "Lords and Ladies" by Terry Pratchett: Grebo - the cat in question - was put in a box, which was then opened by an elf. The phrase is "Grebo went off like a claymore mine".
