I found it to be an honest attempt to see how people felt about this place and why they aren't posting. Unless people feel guilty about something, I don't know how it could be construed as mean-spirited.

So do we all. Everybody allots their time as they see fit and circumstances allow. What they don't need to do is call people doomsayers and whiners when they point out board participation reachs a level where the PVB can't sustain itself. Which you did here and have done in the past almost every time it comes up.

> A community constantly proclaiming its own demise does not feel particularly inviting,

Funny, then, how within a couple of days of my comment and Jason's post we get several new stories and appearances by people. They seem to have done the job.

Hey, that's fine. If people don't want to read or contribute stories one reason is as valid as the next for me. But what I don't like is the dismissal of people who do want to see more participation as whiners, which is what you did. As I said before, if everyone's level was of posting was the same as yours, this place wouldn't exist.

> Also, I miss the feeling of camaraderie and all the random non-story posts and utter ridiculousness we used to have. Then again, most of my old poster-buddies don't post anymore, and if I want to talk to them, I can on instant messenger.

Again, that's fine. People move on, and I understand that.

Well, part of the community exists elsewhere, but if they're not interacting with the board itself, its not the old community. Its two seperate things. Or three, or however many factions there are.

An internet threat. Wow.

>Frankly, I'm aghast that I come to show faith and support in this place

Just out of curiousity, how does calling other people on the board whiners support them?

> and I get treated as the goddamn enemy. Jesus Christ, Mike.

I don't think you're the enemy. I think you're insulting and wrong.
