It's easy to imagine why Liu Xi might be worried about that - the Hooded Hood was interested in her power, the Parody Master wanted to make her a bride because of it, etc.  Now she's naturally wary of anyone who's fascinated by it.

> Why does wanting Vinny to pay three-week overdue rent make Alto a bad guy?

Not a bad guy, just maybe potentially a little greedy.  If Vinny suddenly starts paying his rent on time and getting in the newspapers, it could be one of those "if he's so famous he can afford a little more rent" things.
