> > I still have a ticket open for those server "refused connection" errors.  I'm hoping they fix it this week.
>
> Indeed.

Cross your fingers.  Because in 2 weeks I'll be in Florida for a few days.

> > > I felt it was time to show Liu Xi fighting back against being terrorised.
> > That much I figured.  Still, I'm wondering if the extreme response might be a topic of discussion at the LL.  Of course Sorceress is no stranger to extreme responses, so she'd probably back Liu Xi up.  :)
>
> I'm not sure any of the women would want to discuss their experiences in detail, since the memories dredged up were so painful and intimate, but there's probably a case reprot somewhere that covers the basic facts.

They wouldn't need detail.  Just that if someone says 'Maybe that was a little extreme', Sorceress and Ebony would be the first to say 'No it wasn't'.

> > I suppose the purpose was to make them afraid of Liu Xi, Sorceress, and Ebony, and I guess that did the job pretty well.
>
> It was really both a diversion for escape and a somewhat punitive act. The three women together couldn't usually beat a Hell Lord, but they did manage to cause one to lose face and territory - and therefore power and influence. Add Vesperine to the people who'd like to see them dead and damned.

I'm not sure she'd want them in hell either.

> > It's more her attitude than her actions that's the real asset.  It's being able to both give the others hope and make them laugh at the same time even when things are really looking bad.  And because she's the newest full member, it can't be simply chalked up to experience.
>
> I think she's probably the most spontaneous member except for CSFB! and the most flamboyant now Tricky's gone.

Seems that Yuki is ideal for Lair Legion publicity after all.

> > Yuki's suggestions weren't all completely crazy.  She specifically chose people the Lair Legion knows and has worked with.  It was Yuki being clever - she didn't expect a recruiting drive, but in case she was wrong she'd throw in a couple names of people she likes working with.  Yuki can plan ahead too sometimes.  :)
>
> I wanted to establish in continuity some kind of reasons why the LL didn't immediately go shopping for new members.

If they have enough right now then they have enough.  Yuki's reason for suggestions was because she didn't want to end up working with, say, Carnifex, if there was recruitment.

> > Kind of scary that the Parody Master had something in common with Visionary - being a placeholder to prevent someone worse from existing.
>
> Actually, he was the guard on the gate to stop the Carnifax getting in. He just got ideas above his station.

Too bad he wasn't smart enough to use that as leverage:  "You can't kill me or someone worse will come along".

> > At first I thought Amazing Guy might sense something's wrong about this Carnifex, but he's gone.  Lara might know something's wrong, but she's at home.  I thought there might be someone else who can sense those things, but maybe not.
>
> For now I recommend avoiding plots where anyone notices the Carnifax as being anomalous, for reasons I don't want to spoil until later on.

Well remember, Lara tends to self-doubt what she doesn't know.  For her, finding out about Carnifex is like one of us going downtown and seeing a huge, obvious building for the first time.  She'd say to herself, "That had to be there before, it's just me."

If someone asks her "What's the deal with this Carnifex?" then she might start to think about it, because if the locals aren't sure that magnifies the nagging feeling she has that it's new and unusual.  Then she'd contribute with "Yeah, I don't remember him being here before."

> > As a side note, if Lara does visit and realize he's new, her style is usually to assume he's not harmful since he's not bothering anyone like the Parody Master was.  She has to believe that, simply because she wants the same benefit of the doubt for herself - not to be hunted and eliminated just for being powerful.
>
> I wouldn't want to open that can of worms at this stage.

That's exactly the point.  Lara doesn't want to open that can of worms either.  If she behaves suspiciously about Carnifex, who apparently is "supposed" to be there, she's asking for someone else to treat her the same way.  Who's to say Carnifex won't be leading the Lair Legion next time she visits?  If that ever happened, she'd want to be treated with the same respect and courtesy as she would give him.

If you noticed, on the one or two occasions she spoke to the Hooded Hood, she treated him with courtesy and respect.  Because who knows, maybe upon her return he'll be ruling the Parodyverse.

> > Violet has a problem with her temper, but she can't stay mad at someone as nice as Mr. P.
>
> She could always try out as acting manager until Mr P is recovered.

Violet would see that as an honor.  Michael would particularly hate that.

> > > What role would a part-time cat play in LL: The Musical?
> > Allowing for artistic license, she'd probably get a stupid support role like Amber or Amy.  If she's lucky, maybe Miss Framlicker.  Violet would love to play Yuki but she simply doesn't have the seniority.
>
> That would take Violet out of play for a while though, with Shep and Dancer.

I guess it depends whether she feels guilty enough to stick around and help Mr. P.
