> > That still means it's gone for now.  It's possible that an observant and ambitious government agent might decide now's the time to get rid of a couple of "problems" - and at the moment, Liu Xi seemingly won't have any defenses.  Chiaki probably would though.

> There's no reason you shouldn't go that route if you've got a good story.

I have another story blocking the way first.  And I don't really know which organization might do something like that without damaging anyone else's plans.ÂÂ
> > Or at the very least, instead of clever legal defenses they'd have to go for much more dangerous, direct methods.  Chiaki isn't above using clever and thinly veiled threats.  Yuki isn't above using much more direct and obvious threats.  And both are likely to carry them out.

> I think they'll probably be in public favour for quite a while yet after their very public last battle with the PM.

Probably, but that's usually when the public wants to see them fall.
> > The interesting question there is this:  The only thing they know for sure is that Lara doesn't seem to have any destructive or violent tendencies.  Would they want to encourage her to demonstrate them by confronting her in case she might be dangerous, or just leave well enough alone?
>
> Again, one only you can answer.

Generally Lara avoids violence.  At least until a small army comes to haul her away, then she might become somewhat defensive.  I'm sure they know that though, so I was speculating on whether they'd take the chance or leave it alone.

They might have difficulty taking it.  She tends to resist that sort of thing.ÂÂ
> > Chiaki doesn't really have such ambitions.  But at the same time she does own a few different properties in two countries and has enough to live comfortably, and also has some powerful friends on both sides of the law.  VV might be jealous of that, a little bit at least.
>
> VV might be kealous of Chiaki's shoes, or her date, but she doesn't really yearn to be good - even though she had a penchant for roguish good guys like De Brown Streak.

I meant Chiaki as an example of someone who switched sides without really switching sides, and profiting from it massively at the same time.
