Subj: It might get the Japanese trade.

Reply Subj: Even Yuki knows that's a bad idea.

> > > I wonder how long it'll take for anyone who wants to go after the more dubious Lair Legion associates - like Liu Xi and Chiaki - to figure out that their protection system is gone.
> > I'm not saying it's gone, just that they'll need to figure some new arrangments.
> That still means it's gone for now.  It's possible that an observant and ambitious government agent might decide now's the time to get rid of a couple of "problems" - and at the moment, Liu Xi seemingly won't have any defenses.  Chiaki probably would though.

There's no reason you shouldn't go that route if you've got a good story.

> Or at the very least, instead of clever legal defenses they'd have to go for much more dangerous, direct methods.  Chiaki isn't above using clever and thinly veiled threats.  Yuki isn't above using much more direct and obvious threats.  And both are likely to carry them out.

I think they'll probably be in public favour for quite a while yet after their very public last battle with the PM.

> > > > The government likes to keep tabs on powerful illegal immigrants.
> > > Most likely.  But their files wouldn't really have much information yet.
> > That depends on how much information Epitome, Garrick, and Amber have offered them, for example.
> Even they only have bits and pieces of information.  Sure they can make a file, but they have far from a full profile like they probably have for the usual Lair Legion members.  Of course ironically that may make her a greater threat - because all they know is she's powerful, but not what her exact powers or intentions are, or how she's been tested in the field.
> The interesting question there is this:  The only thing they know for sure is that Lara doesn't seem to have any destructive or violent tendencies.  Would they want to encourage her to demonstrate them by confronting her in case she might be dangerous, or just leave well enough alone?

Again, one only you can answer.

> > > > Symmetry previously ran the sinister funeral business the Westminster Necropolis Company. I'm sure we'll be hearing from them again.
> > > So do they bury people alive or resurrect them?
> > They do a lot of necromancy - questioning the dead for their secrets to blackmail the living, creating zombies, etc. Various PV heroes have clashed with them over the years, including the LL, Messenger, and Dead Boy.

> They must hate the Psychic Samurai then, since she almost never kills.  They won't be able to blackmail her or Akiko that way.

I think they'd probably be more wary of her for any mystic or psychic powers they might suspect she has. Of course, brains like that can have value if they're still fresh when they're re-used.

> Chiaki doesn't really have such ambitions.  But at the same time she does own a few different properties in two countries and has enough to live comfortably, and also has some powerful friends on both sides of the law.  VV might be jealous of that, a little bit at least.

VV might be kealous of Chiaki's shoes, or her date, but she doesn't really yearn to be good - even though she had a penchant for roguish good guys like De Brown Streak.
