Subj: I don't think her chances were too high anyway.

> > On the other hand, Chiaki uses that reputation because it often helps her avoid violence.
>
> I'm sure there are any number of scenarios in which Chiaki could be perceived as a threat.

Perceived, maybe.  But there's a long distance between perception and reality here.

> On the other hand, the Legion has often defended its own against unfair accusations. Jarvis, Nats, Donar and Visionary are some examples (although to be fair, Lisa tried to framed Vizh to clear Jarvis). However, two of the Legion's main defence mechanisms, NTU-150's bottomless wallet and Lisa's rolodex of judges are now much harder to access.

I wonder how long it'll take for anyone who wants to go after the more dubious Lair Legion associates - like Liu Xi and Chiaki - to figure out that their protection system is gone.

> > I'm sure she ended up on those files as soon as her name was known, simply because anyone who can cross dimensional barriers and therefore can't be captured or arrested easily can be interpreted as a threat.
>
> The government likes to keep tabs on powerful illegal immigrants.

Most likely.  But their files wouldn't really have much information yet.

> > In that case I guess Faite's does work differently.  Rather than actually freeze all time around her, Faite just "captures" a moment in time.  The best analogy would be catching a fly in your palm without injuring it and then letting it go at will.
>
> Symmetry previously ran the sinister funeral business the Westminster Necropolis Company. I'm sure we'll be hearing from them again.

So do they bury people alive or resurrect them?

> > > I'm not sure that Vicki would really go for hero work. She's really a classic bad girl and she's not that into other women.
> > I wonder if the Psychic Samurai would encourage her at all.  Chiaki was part of a crime family, never really a leader, and she made a name for herself before becoming something of a hero.
>
> I think VV's generally happy as a villain, and gets quite a lot of job satisfaction.

Wait until Chiaki points out everything she can get away with simply because she doesn't break any significant laws.
