For some reason I had the Comics Code and comic censorship in mind. I did intend to write this entirely as a comic layout (like HH did once), but really couldn't get into it.
At least I got a couple of puns out of it.

That is, as they say, an open question. The Shoggoth can be merciful, it just has a strange idea of what constitutes mercy.
