Some of my first major-distribution fiction books were put out by Cornerstone Books and Golden Hammer Press. Those editions of Robin Hood: King of Sherwood and Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective volumes 2 and 3 are now out of print.

I'm therefore amused - and sceptical - to discover that these volumes are now seling on Amazon for rificulous amounts. Robin Hood is on offer second hand from UK-based Tablet Books for £139 right through to Kelindo in Japan charging £1,290. A new copy is available from £999.

With Holmes volume 2, third party resellers now range from £129.05 to £217.09, whereas they will sell to the US for $114.54 to $117.86. Shipping not included.

volume 3 is available new at £999.11 or used at £916.54. You can buy and "acceptable" quality used edition from M&S Media US for £1.493.73, or a "good" condition used edition from Daily Deal for £1.747.42.
