First, did anyone else see the preview of the "Iron Man" movie during The Daily Show last night? I don't know it that was the first time it aired or not but it looked great. May can't come soon enough.

(I was actually going to suggest a "Create a Parodyverse" movie QORN, with plot and casting suggestions, but this is better)

Movies that I'm surprised haven't been remade yet:

Forbidden Planet: Sort of a remake itself, I know, but with all the Fx advancements in the past decade or so you could do a lot with the material.

Jason and the Argonauts/Clash of the Titans: Given the success of "300", you'd think somebody would be looking at those myths and using CGI to update the gods and monsters that show up in both (though the stop motion effects in the original were great).

The Shadow: They're doing a Spirit movie and supposedly the Green Hornet; it makes sense to take the most famous pulp hero outside of Batman and put him on the screen again (though playing it straight this time, hopefully)

Buckaroo Banzai: Its been 25 years, and I'm still waiting for Buck versus the World Wide League of Crime (sp).

Bad Day at Black Rock: A movie about a crippled veteran showing up in a western town to find out who murdered his friend could be easily updated (given the current political climate)

Them!: The greatest giant mutant ant movie ever made, this actually had a very smart script and some tense scenes (the stuff with the catatonic girl, the hunt in the sewers). Plus I'm a sucker for films where you've got the Army blowing the crap out of giant mutant anythings.
