Subj: I have to say, I certainly didn't breeze through writing it this time. Quote: Good stuff! I mean, much of it is insane, but the good kind... the kind where it would be revered by the village as having some kind of supernatural insight instead of just shuffled off to an asylum. Not that the asylum bits weren't appropriate either. All in all, I'd say it did a fine job of capturing the heady randomness of those early Parodyverse years. (Nice job of threading them through the chapter!)That was the hardest bit. Fortunately Rhiannon trawled through those AMB posts and I had Xander's ancient and incomplete archive of very early BZL stuff (some copied from secondary sources like the long-defunct GeoCities archive). Since this chapter is even more metatextual than usual, it felt right to acknowledge that I still feel a bit guilty for intruding late in the BZL madness and then cuckooing my way into rewriting it. So I wanted to acknowledge that somewhere in the foundations of the Hood's power there are crushed lost stories and characters. Quote: I enjoyed Vizh and Hallie's interactions here, and not just the ones before the innuendo filter went up, They make a pretty good team in tackling the insanity at the heart of the PV, having rolled with it for so long. Well, having written the "first date" story for those two crazy kids I thought I needed to offer some proper payoff at the last. Quote: I also enjoyed the cameo by Jarvis, back from France... that last guy who showed up seems like trouble though...With this storyline I have relaxed my self-imposed prohibition on some "retired" poster-characters. I think the statute of limitations may be up. Hence Banjooooo's recent prominence, and now Jarv gets a speaking part. I had to really curb myself in not to cover all the other old cast dropping in to comment too. Quote: The confrontation between Hacker 9, Aella and the kids was great fun, with everyone involved proving to be more than what they seem at first glance. Too bad the DoomHerald didn't grab the little punk instead.,.It is certainly narratively useful that that exact cast with that exact skillset is just where it needs to be right now. Quote: I'm not entirely sure how moving the big battle inside of the Dreaming Celestia's head helps matters yet, but it was an inventive gambit and if you have to go, may as well take that giant tool with you. There's a revelation twist to that plot for next time. Quote: Good stuff all around! Looking forward to the big finish! It is feeling like a really big task so it might take a week or two. | |||||||
