Subj: Enough about the Fake Man, let's talk about Part 30's big revelation(s)! Posted: Fri Jan 06, 2017 at 06:28:53 pm EST (Viewed 434 times) | Reply Subj: It's quite obvious from previous evidence that he just can't look away. Posted: Fri Jan 06, 2017 at 08:57:05 am EST (Viewed 6 times)
Quite the different pace in this one at first. Very much enjoyed seeing things from Kahn Vaantagion Khaur's perspective. It was also interesting to see the Hooded Hood act in such a direct way in the first flashback scene. We usually don't get to see that. Nice snippets into the rest of the battle. Hatman's way of dealing with the Apostate was a smart move. Though it seemed a little too easy for me to be comfortable with it being the actual end (I've read too many UT's for that) so I'm still slightly worried. I quite enjoyed the little chat between Liu Xi and Kahn. I'd forgotten she was Exu's lover, amongst other things. And the revelation that Xander also had a hand in this was also intriguing. One day I'd like to see Xander and the Hood go at it toe-to-toe so to speak. Though I imagine it could play out with the two of them just standing there arguing like this: Quote: "Oh yeah? Well fifteen years ago I made sure that this occurred!""Ha! I laugh at you! Seventeen years ago I ensured that this would happen!" etc. And thus the other big revelation, that everything really revolves around a love story between the Nexus of Unreality and...a...Bog Thing? Well, it was a lovely song all the same so who am I to judge. *totally judges* At this point we could have done with your updated family chart? Presumably you will share it in the next pulse-pounding concluding issue? So the three lovely Zemette sisters And... Quote: And the third sister, Maladucta, she was with… a Harper offspring? How did Al’s kids…? Never mind, she bore Bambi, the Suicide Blonde, who controlled matter.Wait..saywhatnow? I'm a granddad! Yay! *ahem* I mean...Cody - you are so grounded! Anyway. Godspeed Liu Xi Xian! Quote: Well it was quite the origin. I'm not sure how many people would willingly allow themselves to be eaten like that. Quote: Well Finny is all about the mission.Quote: I got the feeling he was a bit older and probably had already got that (and children) out of the way?Quote: No, Buckland is a young scholar when Sarah saves him from the Church of Conformity two years earlier. I suspect that girls had not played a big part in his life up till then.So I guess Buckland, at least, isn't a direct descendant of our Finny, given it's probably not possible for an Abyssal Ghoul to procreate? Perhaps just a distant relation? Quote: Quote: I do also like that Sarah worked it out. You captured her shock there. Quote: There is another character who is more savvy than she pretends. And still fighting battles in space to this day! Quote: It was a mistake and has now hopefully been entirely corrected. Hieronymous del Lune would have been quite out of his timeline here.Quote: A timeline would be helpful. But maybe that can be done after.Quote: Whenever you feel inspired.I'd try but I'm not sure I'm up to speed on all the various bits. I'm forgetting where Heironymous would fit too. Anyway - for this story are these dates correct? 1552: everybody is converging on the tomb of Visionatus Improbablus - or is it merely the place that will yet become the tomb of him at this point? 1622(?): Blow-Ye-The-Trumpets-In-Sion Aivry rescues Black Helen the Greenhag from the clutches of Justiciar Humbolt Vernold. A bit later still(?): The Improbable College first visit the tomb of Visionatus. 1772(?): The Improbable College recruit Avrogadrus del Lune, Captain Biancaneve, and Fredrego the butchers boy. (Who are actually Al B., Yuki and Ham-Boy either living as ancestors or other-live versions of the same people). Quote: Probably not something we want to think about too much really. Quote: Except... comic books!Exactly. But as we both know the letter hacks are out there pondering all this and will write in. Quote: Yes, the tunnel transition sent them back to meet Chokohontas, who is from that earlier period. So clearly they're all back in 1552-ish now.So Chokohontas and her beavers are from 1552. Quote: More on both of them in Chapter 31, of course, together again for the last time!Complete with wedding dress/shroud wearing Hallie art. Quote: We've previously learned that the Resolution Prophecy keeps shaping history to put certain characters in place to play out the events that will answer the Question for which the Parodyverse was made. So different LL-like organisations and their opponents spring up all along the timeline as the Resolution Prophecy tries to line up all its ducks. But just try getting the Parodyverse to be that organised!Order and Chaos rule equally in the Parodyverse. One part gets sorted - another part jumps out to bamboozle just as quick. Quote: I blame the Resolution Prophecy. AG blamed the Cowled Criminal (A Junior Reader). It might also have been caused by Eddie the Imp. Or Hedgehogs of Time, I suppose. Or just the fact that this is a Parodyverse.I blame the Hooded Hood for a good part of it. And Xander the Improbable. Quote: Indeed. But it became clear that was the last chapter of the issue, not of the story. The story is never going to end, you may as well accept that. Quote: Yikes! You really are going to try to fit EVERYONE in. Quote: There is room for at least one more interferer with an unfinished plotline, anyhow. Was that the one just posted or is there more to come in #31? Quote: And whilst you are wrecking your brain, do not forget: "the yellow-coated corpse" = Visionary. "a raven-feather quill" umm, Chronicler? "a matted clump of purple rabbit fur" Yo! "a rusted Antikythera-like mechanism" Al B. or Yuki, or Hallie. "a dusty ball the size of a small fist" ? "a dried leaf rotted to brown flinders" who is our nature character again? "a stoppered stone bottle with crusted white mould around the cork." ... Sorceress? Quote: As if I could forget the da Visionary Code! I'm now more thinking the various items are indeed the side-kicks. ie: Quoth, Rabbito, probably Fleabot. I figured the ball was CSFB! but now as a sidekick I'm not so sure. leaf is spiffy's fern? bottle still has me stumped. OK maybe the bottle is the bottle of Shoggoth mentioned in the latest part. Quote: Has Rhiannon worked it out yet?Quote: Not all of it. And she still doesn't know who the big baddie behind it all is.Well then what hope is there for the rest of us!
