Just wondering what folks thought.  Obviously this can be as spoiler-filled or as spoiler-free as you want it to be.

Just trying to stick to my somewhat promise to post more often...still haven't figured out posting from home yet though.

Hopefully everyone's lives are great.

I'm aftaid I haven't seen it. I was deterred by pre-release creator and cast interviews that suggested the direction they were taking wasn't one I would enjoy and by a general disappointment with other recent DC movies of which this seemed to be in the same vein. Subsequent reviews have not altered my suspicion.

Some of the problems I would probably have with the film if I saw it (but which I'm keeping in the "probably" deferred-judgement zone since I;ve not) are:

1. A very unsubtle Joker rendering that, based on clips and statement by Jared Leto, feel very much like he's trying too hard.

2. A highly sexualised Harley who is still only an object to drive male character's plots. Since when does the Joker pimp her out?

3. A thin Amanda Waller.

4. Lots of dark shakicam scenes in the rain.

I'm also disappointed that the actual premise of the comics Suicide Squad, to be deniably deployed where the government can deny involvement in situations too dangerous to risk "proper" heroes is evidently not served. Instead the plot features a villainess from amongst the team who would probably not have been set off without the team existing wrecking a generic city in a scenario that either the Justice League or the Avengers would have handled with more effectiveness and elan.

In the interests of balance, I'll say that the trailers had some good music and a few neat one-liners.

If people who have seen the actual movie have other views I'm very happy to hear them. Otherwise Suicide Squad can gett of my damn lawn.
