Subj: It is somehow strangely appropriate.

Reply Subj: Well, that's an obvious match if ever I saw one...

I'm glad that the Top Gear folks got done up in pony by someone who could do some quite good lip synching... those are always my favorites, and people have gotten that down to a science now where they can match the ponies up to just about any dialog imaginable.

It was probably about a year ago that I first brought up the scourge of ponies, and I recall predicting that the day was coming when fans wouldn't need a studio produced show in order to feed their fixations... that fan-produced content was becoming so elaborate as to be self-sustaining if necessary.

I think I said it was likely within the decade... I may have to speed up that time-table after I saw this following video. It is completely made from scratch... Original backgrounds, characters (although many are based on and match the show's characters perfectly), original voice acting, original song and music... This is all new material, not spliced together from existing clips. And while I'm not sure how clear it would be to someone unfamiliar with the show, I have to say that as a fan and an artist it looks to match the show's animation insanely well:

Now, the song had been written and performed by other fans as a tribute to the Photo Finish character a while back, and then this person re-recorded it with a voice actress that matched the one from the show very well, and then animated a video for it. It's this snowballing collaboration that I really enjoy about the fandom, myself.

I actually started paying attention to the series after finding out that John De Lancey played the villian in the second season opening. Having Q in a series about ponies is ... interesting.

But yes, that clip looks quite professional.

As is always the case with my writing, please feel free to comment. I welcome both positive and negative criticism of my work, although I cannot promise to enjoy the negative.
