I didn't watch Doctor Who back in the day. I didn't fall in love with him until the new series began. But I discovered Elisabeth Sladen in her wonderful role of Sarah Jane Smith through the New Who. David Tenant showed his love for her and through him and so many wonderful appearances, we all fell in love with her.

May she have the peace she deserves.

Can't add anything that hasn't been better said by the many fine tributes to Elisabeth Sladen. Through her warmth and skill she built an underwritten role into a much-loved and enduring character.
