Quote: Quote: But they're great for stealth lurking at the bottom of the ocean and they have a great sinister visual.Quote: Still not very fast, though. Plus lurking pretty much guarantees someone will try to board it. Kind of like what already happened.I think fictional submarines in fictional superhero universes can go at whatever speed their designer plans for them. But really I wanted to convey lurking and sinister rather than fast and deadly, hence Squid Ship rather than Shark Ship. I imagine it has deadly robot arms that can crush and unsuspecting vessel on the sea above. BALD is the scientific villain group, as opposed to HERPES who are the paramilitary/terrorist villain group, so their weapons and methods are different. Quote: Quote: Or he might just know enough to realise how worried her shouldbe.Quote: I thought it might be a more vague feeling because he hasn't even let Liu Xi in on it yet. Like maybe he feels something bad will happen but he has no evidence yet and doesn't want to cry wolf until he knows. He's trying to find his own balance. He's not got that "I know what's going to happen but I won't or can't tell you" vibe like Xander. It's more a "there are possibilities I'm worrying about but I don't know whether it's worth worrying you yet" vibe. Or even an "I'm feeling out of my depth in a new situation with all these strange people and I'm not sure how to deal with it" vibe. Quote: Quote: She's a naturally helpful person offering her talents and insights for the common cause.Quote: She's also the only one besides Goldeneyed and Hatman who knows exactly what to do when the monsters come to eat them. She's seen it happen before. Liu Xi and Hatman working together would mean the team is very well protected. Especially underground, surrounded by familiar elements. We'll get to what happens if the monsters come later. Quote: Also, it must have been a tough choice for Hatty, because part of his instinct might have been to split up Liu Xi and Vinnie so they don't depend on one another too much. But getting the team to work relatively safely, he probably decided that was more important. You'll note during the course of the story that Hatty tries pairing folks in all kinds of ways, like a coach trying out a rookie team to see what works best. | |||||||
