Quote: This whole episode strikes me as a bit like an early M*A*S*H, full of wisecracking in the face of authority followed by a bloody gory surgery session.
Quote: Unfortuately there's a possibility that it might split into two chapters if it keeps on sprawling.
Quote: Shocking news, certainly. And the gory parts... would those be in this chapter, or in this story arc (including such things as dead Exu and all)?
Like I'm going to say; but I expect this story strand to include... casualties.
Quote: We haven't yet heard what Camellia is up to or why she'd be interested in such a place.
Quote: Probably just looking to retire to a quiet life among the truckers, I'd think. Not sure where the extra stolen shoe comes in, although if the Shoggoth becomes a part of this plotline, then it's sure to drop.
We'll certainly find what she's up to soon enough. I've got to set up a few credible threats for the new line-up to cope with. So far we've only got the Hood and Dark Thugos and the New Pantheon.
Quote: Jason still hasn't been able to track down the problem for you, eh? I admit, things are still working fine on my end. I've actually got an ipad now and the page opens near instantly, so I check in often when I'm sitting on my couch.
I'm worrying that it's an artefact of my IP provider (Demon), but I don't see how. The problem persists with all the house computers.
Quote: And your guess for which 7 heroes the government would put into the team? As in "Seven of you get to stay - the rest of you are out" said Herbert Garrick.
Quote: Right, I was thinking about that earlier... Let me see... I suppose it would depend on how necessary the government thinks having a Lair Legion actually is. Surely they could insist on staffing it with relatively unpowered individuals that they deemed as no threat, but then they wouldn't be able to call in the big guns when a Parody Master strolled into town.
Quote: Instead, I'll assume that they want a functioning Lair Legion for just such emergencies, but one that they feel they can trust and/or control.
Quote: The Silver Aegis seems like a natural choice in the absence of Epitome. The gov. likely has some questions about him that might raise red flags, but I think they'd be comfortable dealing with him over most other choices.
Aegis may be the least "controllable" government agent. Apart from originating in another US he's also got some absolute morals. It's why Captain America was never going to lead the pro-registration movement even when ordered to.
Quote: Al B. Harper, so they wouldn't have to actually hire him in an emergency and they're smart enough to see his value. Muffy can be tough to haggle with.
Al B.'s a possibility, although he's got dual nationality so he might have mixed loyalties (he's also a citizen of Costa Del Lune).
Quote: Donar, because the government seems to like powerful weapons that can level a city block just in case they ever need to make a point, as long as they're either controllable or at least predictable and unlikely to get too many ideas on their own. I think a psyche evaluation would show them that Donar's happy to get into a fight, and not at all likely to betray or turn against those rightfully in power. He'd likely walk away from the mortal's world before taking it over.
Some compelling points. He'd be dangerous on a team with Visionary, though, as he'd tend to back Vizh's play over any formal chain of command.
Quote: Goldeneyed, for added response time and a personality they can be comfortable with.
Possibly true.
Quote: Dancer, because the number of personal references she has is enough to make a politician sit up and take notice... and I don't even mean that in a Spark test kind of way.
She also looks good on the PR photos.
Quote: Yuki Shiro for the all-around abilities she offers, along with a personality that isn't likely to give them fits.
She's a risk junkie who's too snoopy for her own good, but she's got a lot of useful stuff to bring to the party.
Quote: and Visionary, because there always needs to be somebody ready to take the blame when things go wrong.
Noted.

I suspect that was revoked by the ruling family long ago.
