Subj: It does mean the end of the story, though.

Reply Subj: Does he know that "Happily Ever After" has been a crowd pleaser for a long time?

Dead enemies can't suffer the knowledge of their absolute failure.

    Quote:
Of course, if they don't die, is the failure absolute? I like to think not. Any mission you can limp away from...

Yes, you can live with absolute failure. Say you failed to save your loved one because you made a bad choice, a fatal error, and now you have to live out your cold, lonely existence knowing you were to blame.

The Hood's good at manouvring his enemies into making choices that will hurt.

    Quote:
Vizh has already had to face this dilemma quite a bit, and it's no great secret that he tends to go with the "save them" option every time. Jason tends to play Lara as a bit more strategically - and even emotionally - detatched, which makes her choices a lot more unpredictable.

    Quote:
So then I can trust that the Hood won't be putting him in a position to make those kinds of decisions... right? I think I heard Al saying he always wondered what he would do in those situations...

I'm sure the Hooded Hood will strive for a little bit of ingenuity when offering Vizh ways of destroying himself.

    Quote:
The trio in question being Thugos, Slithis and this Ultra-Doomwraith? And will they be lining up in an orderly fashion and waiting their respective turns?

    Quote:
No, the third is the person who actually was able to murder Exu for Slithis.

    Quote:
Oh. Well, whoever that is, he's probably all murdered out. In fact, after Exu, he'll probably want to hibernate for a long, long time to digest what he's done. And reflect. Maybe join a convent. So many ways the story could go...

The third is, of course, Sir Lucien the Chain Knight. He may visit a convent at some point.

    Quote:
What they're doing is really a B-plot. The Hooded Hood has some plans as well.

    Quote:
Shouldn't he find a new romance? Maybe settle down, raise some kids who don't hate him/aren't simply chess pieces in a grand scheme/aren't interchangeable?

The Hood must first quench his thirst for revenge and save the Parodyverse by becoming its supreme and absolute ruler.

    Quote:
Or maybe he could write a novel and go on a book tour... I know I'd read it.

I don't have a promo budget in excess of $30,000 - which is the threshold required by the big stores to really get on board pushing a book (or tour).

    Quote:
Yes, because Thugos really seems the type to prefer peaceful resolution to differences...

    Quote:
That's what makes a diplomatic mission story fun.

    Quote:
I thought it was the free food and travel...

Apocalyspian food?
