Quote: Just imagine what he could accomplish if he were the full Sorcerer Supreme.I'm not sure Vinnie is ruthless enough for the role. Quote: Lots of fun in this one as the Necromancer General gets yet another come-uppance and the EEE team come up with a plan. Vinnie has really done quite well in the position he's been entrusted with (or forced into.) The main bit of evidence is that's he's decidedly not dead yet. That's always a good feature for one's resume. Now, if he could only figure out how to do the job with the seeming minimal amount of effort Xander puts into it...I think Vinnie's most fun and most heroic when he's struggling; a bit like Vizh. Quote: Cody's dating life has already reaped dividends, apparently. I didn't quite catch the reference in the dig at Kara... is she seeing someone that I've forgotten about, or just having an active behind-the-scenes life? In any event, this is always a fun group and the kitten adds to it well.I don't think Cody and Stassia are serious. It was just a fling. And you've not missed any arcane continuity references re Kara. Sometimes an illegal fighting robot is only and illegal fighting robot. Quote: Looking forward to more, although I'll be going on a trip for the rest of the week starting tomorrow afternoon, so replies beyond then will probably be relatively short (typed on my phone). I'll still be checking in daily, however.I'm on a trip tommorow too, but I hope to be back in time to post a segment. After that I'll need to write more if I want to post more. Work is getting tough again. Here's an example of how tough: This morning I had three big problems with the main project I'm overseeing. Latest estimates put cost £55,000 over budget, the funders want to put a team of consultants in to "assist" in running things, and because money isn't committed yet (because there's not enough to commit) there's a risk of clawback of around £400,000. So I decided the best thing to do was to crunch all three problems together and let them solve ech other. I let the funder (a government agency) convince me to shift some of their corporate underspend (to help them out, you understand) to enhance early project delivery. That gives me around £75k extra to play with and solves the cost overrun. It does mean I'll need to spend more time on it, so I'm farming out some architectural, quantity surveying, and legal work to the consultants - on their budget. That'll free up around £30k of my admin budget to pay people I like - and me - rather more to deal with the extra work of having consultants around. I get to be the nice guy who helped out the funder, the team player who welcomed in the potentially-rival consultants and found a home for them, and my project is back on cost and time schedule. Then I had lunch. Quote: Edit: Oh, and to answer your question from the part 1 response, Vizh has mentioned looking for Brap in a couple of stories, but much like Epitome he hasn't made an appearance since the end of that thing with the Moderator. Sounds like the ball's in your court. Proceed. | |||||||
