I kept checking for some sign that this video had come from The Onion.

Because otherwise, you know, HOLY SHIT UNINTENTIONAL SELF-PARODY.

I don't think there are words enough in the English language to describe everything that's wrong with this, as any sort of adaptation of the Divine Comedy, or any of Dante Alighieri's other works. It's like all the worst stereotypes about mainstream media adaptations of classic literature got rolled up into a single, terrible reality.

Blame my LiveJournal friend homasse for making me aware of this abomination and crime against literature, storytelling, history and humanity.
