> > A clever resolution that I hope to see followed through. For example, Beth von Zemo is now back in custody, having voluntarily returned to her luxury cell and en-suite sauna. The Silence-of-the-Lambs-spooky criminal mastermind Blackbird chose not to escape at all. Other current inmates include Anvil Man, Appendage Man, razor Ballerina, Brass Monkey, and VelcroVixen. Warden Westwood lost his long-time Security Chief and friend in the breakout and will definitely need wining over to the idea of Chiaki in some way replacing his most trusted ally.

> It's going to be a lot of work for Chiaki. She doesn't shy away from big tasks, but that may prove troublesome for her too.
> Fortunately Beth Zemo doesn't intimidate her, and she's really not afraid of spooky criminal masterminds, since both will plot quietly and are more interesting to stay ahead of. Oddly enough, it's the former Purveyors that scare her most, since they're opportunists - they'll take any chance they can to escape, kill anyone they can, and have no pattern for prediction.

I suggest that every encounter doesn't have to be life-or-death or even winners-and-losers. Some can be be character defining - or just plain fun.

For example, Anvil Man, Brendan McGillicuddy, is a career mercenary who happened to get permanently sealed into an indestructible suit of armour. He's a fairly ordinary working joe in many ways, and unless someone was paying him to kill Chiaki he'd happily sit down with her and share a brew or talk over the baseball scores. In fact he'd respect her for her professionalism working for Akiko and be happy to shoot the breeze.

> > On the Mayoral race, I wonder if we could find some other candidate to edit in instead of Ventredi?
> I ran out of ideas. The election is a month away in story time, though, so who knows who could join the race before then. I wasn't originally planning to finish the mayor sublot anyway, since whatever I choose would probably upset some posters. \:\)

There's no reason Paradopolis shouldn't get a new mayor. I just think we'd be better off with a new character, for the same reasons I introduced velma Klein over in GMY.

> > I think this might be a fine opportunity to introduce an entirely new protagonist, somebody designed from scratch and about to make a move.

> Originally I thought of Marvellous Marv, but he'd probably just get killed again or disappear before the election. Other than that I'm out of ideas at the moment. I'm not sure about coming up with something new, because then I'd have to go to the trouble of establishing who it is first. Nobody comes out of nowhere and wins an election.

I did wonder about Marvellous Marv, but I wasn't sure if you'd got other plans for him.
