The Hooded Hood finishes the Caphan subplots and sets some new things in motion

Subj: I'm convinced I replied to part 3... Oh well, just blame it on hardware problems (today it's the turn of the air conditioning. Apparantly it is "being maintained").

>     Ã¢â‚¬Å“Then we can only wait,” declared Prince Kiivan. “The future of Caph – any future of Caph – depends on them now.

So no pressure then...

>     Ã¢â‚¬Å“I am a free woman,” Miiri replied to her. “I can aid whom I please.” She gestured for Deeela to join her.

For no very good reason I had the St Trinians chant in my head (We do what we damn well please...")

>     Ã¢â‚¬Å“You chose to be beaten to a pulp and dragged before the Caliphate Court?” Miiri asked sceptically, but as she spoke her hands were checking Kriije’s injuries and staunching her reopened wounds with the help of some ceremonial scarves.

The LL seem to have a lot of plans like that...

>     Ã¢â‚¬Å“If you weren’t stealing, why were you in the vault?” wondered Deeela. It was such an unlikely combination of people in such an unlikely place. She sensed a story there.

Channeling Ziles?

>     Ã¢â‚¬Å“Your excellency, you cannot believe the word of a nomead-possessed outcast over the high priest of Raathi!” protested the surprised cleric.
>
>     Ã¢â‚¬Å“Swear then,” Kiivan demanded of him. “Swear by Raathi and Zaahir that you had no part in this.”
>
>     The colour drained from Serooq’s face. “I… I… My prince…”

Oh well. At least he is sincere enough not to swear falsely.

>     Lartroon laughed. “Slaughter them all.”

Oooh. This not be good.

As is always the case with my writing, please feel free to comment. I welcome both positive and negative criticism of my work, although I cannot promise to enjoy the negative.
