I think she's taking her promises seriously, even when they might cost her everything. It's a sign of growing maturity.


There was some touching interaction.


I was thinking it might be something to do with the development or manufacturing process. There has to be a reason why SPUD isn't making hundreds of Anna-class androids, and cost doesn't seem to be a good enough reason for me. I'd say there must have been some unique element that made the prototype (or prototypes) possible that prohibits mass production - possibly a dark secret about illegal experimentation or use of illicit techniques.

For example, Anna might have been constructed using broken down Parody Master tech like Obedience Brands. Or she might have been developed as a weapon of last resort against superheroes to be activated under certain situations (such as the murder of the President by a superhero or something). Or her creation team might have got a vital final spark from a deal with Dark Thugos.

Relevant to this are two elements of her history: 1. We've never seen the shadowy tech-division that created Anna again, so they've either dropped out of SPUD or been supressed by Drury. 2. The level of response that SPUD made to Anna's escape was proportionately quite high for one rogue metahuman, suggesting the need for either a cover-up or a rapid containment of a major threat.


The other thing that's missing is an understanding of why the Land That Common Sense Forgot is still there.
