I always thought he was warped from the start.

> > Chiaki because she sacrificed a lot to become what she is today, yet she managed to balance discipline and skill, and she also manages to have fun once in a while too. If Sam becomes intrigued by her and requests training, Chiaki may just give her more training than she bargained for.

> The key thing about Sam is that she's absorbing as much training from as many people as she can possibly get access to - the LL, Chaiki, Natalia, Champagne, even the Dark Knight when he was around. The end result is the Sam-from-the-future who guest-starred in UT #99-100.

I guess it wasn't clear then whether Sam had training from Chiaki or how much. Generally though, most of the people listed above teach skills. Chiaki would quite assertively point out that she teaches a lifestyle. But she would also note that her kind of training isn't for everyone, and would only teach Sam if she's willing to accept it and participate.

Though Sam might be interested if she knew that full Samurai training is nearly the same as training for Ninja.
