No, I think the directory is right, in retrospect. The flag I described is the Cross of St David, the flag of Ireland. The English flag is a red cross on a white background, with the cross being the vertical/horizontal plus sign used as a Christian symbol (the cross of St George). The Scottish flag you mention is the Cross of St Andrew. The three are combined together to form the Union Flag (often called the Union Jack, although that\'s more properly the description for the flag when used at sea).

The Welsh flag is white and green with a red dragon on it and nobody thought it was important enough to include when the Union Flag was first created in 1606 or when it was revised in 1801.
