I got home from a meeting and found Sarah locked in her office because there was a bird in our house. We have no idea how it got in, but she spent almost an hour hiding in her office while the bird was in the house waiting for me to come home. She even blogged about it and put a message on her Facebook saying "There's a bird in the house and I'm locked in my office. JAY COME HOME!!!"
Unfortunately I absolutely hate birds in enclosed places (outside is fine) so it was quite the trial getting the thing out. First I couldn't find it (it was hiding behind some pictures on a high shelf), then it hid behind and underneath the fridge. When it knocked a picture over flying off the shelf Sarah started screaming so loudly I'm surprised her mother isn't deaf now(she was on the phone with her at the time)
Seeing as how I live in an area with lots of turkey farmers I called for some assistance. A friend came over with a net, and we finally got the stupid thing to get out from the fridge and fly out an open window.
As much as I don't like cats I gave some thought to getting one today, let me tell you.

Having a cat and a bird in a house together is much worse than just the bird alone. Blood and feathers go everywhere.
