> They should probably call somebody about that. Preferably somebody with reasonable rates, because that sounds like a big job.

I think it's sorted now, except that the scullions have got a lot of scrubbing to do.

> Not that our heroes didn't do admirably themselves... All the old standbys were encountered and dispatched: guards, monsters, locks, poison, traps and a treasure at the end. What more could one want out of a collection of dank subterranean chambers?

I'm trying to give the kids a flavour of the various different varieties of role playing. Next time, the monster hunt.

> I like the two supporting characters, personally. And it may be the Dancer influence on the board, but I thought "They'd make a cute couple..." You know, as far as a second-born nobleman and gypsy thief can make a go at it in this crazy mixed up world.

They're a little young for romance to our modern sensibilities, although I suppose things were probably very different in the Dark Ages. Still, let's see what happens. Sarah's influence is hard to ignore.

> I find it interesting that, rather than being set in a complete fantasy land, the tale makes references to real world stories and places. It's a nice mix, although it makes me worried as to what horrors you British routinely find tucked away in your basements over there. And what exactly you're doing with your Roosters.

I'm using a campaign map from the Pendragon roleplaying system (1st and 2nd editions were best, and the boxed set came with a beautiful A2 wallmap depicting Arthurian England). Rookwood happens to be the name of the place I grew up, although its location has shifted to where Alex and Rhiannon live now, west of Conisborough, east of the Pennines, on the edge of the great Sherwood Forest which of old was Bedegraine or the Forest Sauvage.

I can't find the beautiful and detailed old map online, but a 5th edition equivalent is at http://download.white-wolf.com/download/download.php?file_id=839 , reproduced below. You'll find Conisborough roughly west of the bottom of the map key shield.

> Looking forward to finding out what's so special about that book, and if there are any missing pages that Jethro might have secretly sent to his daughter to get her drawn into all this...

I'm really struggling to answer all the mysteries of the Thane's manor next chapter and still squueze in the next past of the storyline so that something more exciting happens than everyone standing around while Annwyn reads a book.
