Liu Xi believes that the Moderator will change so much about the universe that he'd effectively destroy it anyhow - and by then, it will be too late to do anything about it because people like her will be deleted. And she seems to have an instinctive belief that if she gets the universe eaten, it'll reset itself somehow.
