Subj: I can't claim they're original, but I hope they're at least reworked.Posted: Tue Nov 13, 2007 at 03:25:50 am EST

> As has been observed several times, the entire point of a proper haunted house story is the same as its biggest problem ("Why don't they just leave?"), and while you already came up with a decent contrivance to keep the non-ghosts in, the intriguing twist was how you gave the ghosts a way out, since that expands the scale and makes the haunted house everyone's problem, beyond that of the people trapped in it.
|
I wanted a sense of urgency to the story, and since two of the most prominent cast were other people's characters it was hard to get that urgency from "will they die?"
> And your villain would have terrified Ayn Rand, being a collective soul and all.

Next time we should have Ayn Rand in there.
